What counts as a seat?
Anyone who signed in to a Janus Edge gateway in the last 30 days. Service accounts and team tokens don't count. You can see the current number under Admin → System, and you'll never be charged for more seats than you bought.
What happens if my license expires?
Nothing that interrupts anyone's work. Every gateway keeps proxying, enforcing quotas and syncing users as before. What pauses is adding new things (models, upstreams, keys, quotas and rules) until the license is renewed. Subscription licenses include seven days of grace after the paid period ends, and Community and manually issued keys keep whatever grace period was signed into them.
Do I need internet access on the gateway?
No. Licenses are signed files that are verified offline. Automatic license sync is off by default and separate from update notices. We recommend turning sync on for subscriptions so renewals arrive by themselves; otherwise, download and install the renewed key from the portal after each renewal.
Can I split seats across networks?
Yes. Buy one pool, then issue a key for each gateway or site from the portal, say 60 seats for headquarters and 40 for the lab. You can move seats around at any time.
How can I pay?
Checkout runs through Stripe on our site. You can pay by card or by US bank account (ACH). Bank payments take a few business days to clear, and your seats work on a 30-day provisional license in the meantime. Sales tax is calculated at checkout, and you can add a tax ID and PO number so they appear on every invoice. If you need net-30 invoicing, ask us.
Can I change seats or cancel?
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Changing seat count or billing cadence mid-term isn't supported online yet, so contact us and we'll handle it.
Is the source code available?
Yes. Janus Edge is released under the Elastic License 2.0, so you can read it, audit it and build it yourself. You can't offer it as a hosted service or remove the license checks. Commercial use above the Community limits needs a Business or Enterprise license; see the commercial terms.
