Performance mode

Batch usage writes to meter several times more requests per second on each replica.

What it is

JANUS_PERFORMANCE_MODE=true writes usage in 100 ms batches and commits without waiting for the disk flush, so one replica meters several times more requests per second.

Why you want it

The busiest gateways can trade a tiny, bounded loss window for much higher throughput per replica.

How it works

  • A database crash can lose about the last 0.5 s of usage; graceful shutdowns lose nothing
  • Decided at startup; without a valid Business or Enterprise license the gateway logs why and runs normally
  • Shown on Admin system status
