Signed license keys and seats
A license is a signed key you paste in, and an expired key never stops traffic that's already configured.
What it is
A license is a signed text key installed in the admin UI or mounted as a file. Without one, Janus runs as Community with 25 active users and one node.
Why you want it
Buying and upgrading is a paste, not a sales call, and expiry never stops running work.
How it works
- A seat is anyone active in the last 30 days; when seats are full only new first sign-ins are refused
- After expiry and grace, only creating new items is refused (HTTP 402); everything configured keeps running
- Business features unavailable in an edition are shown greyed out with a reason
- One-paste activation code bundles the key and its sync token
